History of Daewoo Bus Corp. begins with the formation in February 1955 of the company Shinjin Motors (1955-1972), which began the development and production of the first Korean buses. In 1960, a factory was built in Busan, which produced models of buses under the brand SHINJIN FB100LK (1962), SHINJIN BFB50 (1968), SHINJIN DB102L (1968), SHINJIN DHB400C (1970) - this is the first bus in Korea with a diesel engine. In 1972, a joint venture was organized with General Motors GM Korea, the production of buses bearing the Chevrolet brand and GMC (1972-1976) was launched: GMC DB105LC (1972), GMC BD50DL (1973), tourist bus GMC BU110 (1976). In 1976, the company was renamed Shaehan Motor Co, the production of buses under the brand SHAEHAN BUS / SMC BUS was launched: City buses BS101 (1977), luxury BH120 (1981) and city BF105 (1982), tourist BV113 (1982).
The serial production of buses under the Daewoo brand was organized in 1983 at a reconstructed plant in Busan, the smallest of the four South Korean enterprises of Daewoo Motors. BS Series
The main share of production so far is not for luxury tourist buses, but for simple machines for servicing local lines, suburbs of the capital and small settlements. These include bus BS090 (BM090) and BS106 with lengths of 9 and 10.6 m, with a capacity of 20-39 seats, with a capacity of 66-76 seats. In its rear part are installed a 6-cylinder 8-liter diesel DL-08 with a capacity of 250-300 hp. or CNG diesel GE12TI and a manual 5-speed transmission. Suspension of all wheels is spring, the steering gear is equipped with hydraulic booster. Available in different versions with one (BS090 Royal Midy / BS106 Royal Star), or with two doors (for example BS106 Royal City). The type of the front door is a folding two-leaf, the middle door is sliding (door-coupe). In 2012, the BS series buses are updated, received a new front and rear mask, a new driver's cab and a dashboard. The new name of these models is NEW BS 090 and NEW BS 106.
BC Series
To this series of buses Daewoo Bus Corp. includes 11 and 12-meter low-floor city buses BC211 and BC212, designed to carry 75 passengers (seating 20-30). By request, the buses can be completed with an automatic gearbox, an air suspension with a system of bookings, a central air conditioning system and the like.
