The history of this brand is rooted in 1968, when 30 people took a job at the newly-created enterprise for the production of boilers. Barely born in the year of the founding of the company, children have reached adulthood, since 1984 the factory was completely redesigned for the production of buses. Today, TemSA is the third largest company in Turkey of this profile with an average annual output of 800 passenger cars (leadership belongs to Mercedes-Benz, followed by MAN). True, the situation is changing.
In the second half of the 80s TemSA confidently occupied the second line, and production volumes grew to 1,200 buses a year. To date, the throughput of the three conveyor lines is exhausted, so the decision was made to build the fourth one. The potential of the company is eloquently evidenced by its plans: by 2007 it intends to reach the level of 2,500 units of equipment.
The main production here is assembly. Some details, such as the front panel and interior elements, are manufactured directly in the factory, but the main ones are bought from large suppliers. For example, engines - from MAN and Mitsubishi, axles and bridges - from MAN, gearboxes and steering - from ZF, there are parts from DAF and Volvo. For individual orders from Norway, the Mercedes-Benz headlights are supplied, and the radio receivers are supplied by Blaupunkt. In total, the company has about 300 suppliers: 250 Turkish and 50 foreign. The result is an international product - a European bus of Turkish assembly. Contrary to the earlier stereotype of Turkish goods, the quality of TemSA products is very high. It is trusted by customers of a number of European countries. By the way, up to 60-70% of the issued buses are sent for export.
For example, only in France over the past two years the company has sold about 600 Bus Safari. In Austria, she won the Post Bus tender, which in 2003 delivered 63 low-floor "post" Safari buses to the customer, and the total shipments will exceed 100 such cars. At the beginning of this year, one of the Austrian firms signed a contract for the shipment of 44 buses. In recent years, TemSA has entered the markets of Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Italy, Croatia, the Czech Republic.
The important market for TemSA is actually Turkey, Arab countries and Ukraine. "On the newcomer" in this list appeared Russia. The volume of sales of finished goods in 2003 amounted to 60 million US dollars. And, apparently, this is not the limit: in 2004, 32 countries of the world are already exported by TemSA. What is attractive for TemSA products for domestic consumers? A whole series of moments. In Russia TemSA plans to work in the light of errors and omissions of competitors.
